Backup bow fer this seasons hawg huntin'. From a piece of florida yew(Taxus floridana). Got it at a yard sale coupla years ago fer $1. Someone tried ta make a bow outta it. Had a VICIOUS hinge in both limbs (mid). Outer wood was WAY too thin. Whomever tried ta stain it . Looks like it was fieblings dye (dark brown) but was put on VERY thick and not in thin coats and allowed ta dry between coats. Piked it   and reworked it. Dont really like the tiller er handle bows but will serve as a backup bow just fine. Rawhide backed it. Shorty, 55" 62# @ 26''.Shoots a arra with authority and only has 3/4" string follow after shootin', back ta none in a few hours er so. Kinna looks like a Korean bowta me.... ;D Enjoy !..........bob

Looks like it ought to kill a pig to me.  The tiller isn't the question, the big question is, can you shoot a bow with a big old handle.  ;D  Justin

Bob, Looks like if you flipped it the tiller would be better...but if it works for you like it is, go for it. ;D    Pat

Sweet steep tiller and nice heavy draw weight there Bob. That had ta take a bunch o' talent, I've tried to rescue several yard sale bows .They always have major problems ,like being dried out , or warped from leaning fer years ,or massive set from being strung for years, well you get the point.  Good work. :)

If I had that bow I'm sure I would have wimped out and sinewed it.

jamie:
