BB Santos Rosewood
Jesse:
That is the kind of finish I want to get. Any certain brands or application tips your willing to share? That bow is very thin wow I think I would be asking for trouble trying to make one with those dimentions. Nice work.

Marc St Louis:
Well the way I see it. All 3 are different from each other. The tung oil comes from a nut, the shellac is alcohol based with a beetle extract and the wax is well wax :). The tung oil by itself is a mediocre moisture repellant and so is the shellac but the wax is excellent. I figure that alternating layers of the tung and shellac must surely be better than each by itself and the wax is like icing on the cake. For me moisture protection comes first but I also like my bows to look good.
Jesse. I use a 2# cut of shellac and a good name brand tung oil. The paste wax is by Johnson and is recommended for furniture and floors
Marc St Louis:
In any case here is a full draw picture
Jbell:
Thanks Marc, makes good sense to me. Your full draw is impeccable as usual. Superb job!
Stickhead:
You're a real inspiration, Marc. That bow's a beauty, and the tiller looks perfect to me.
