Carp skin backing interest, making a list..(Pics for madcrow added)

TurtleCreek:
I find a pocket of slack water, usually down stream from a bridge or bend in the river where they are stacked up- the water where I find em' is usually pretty shallow- 2 to 3 feet.  Then I just drift fish them with a 1/4 oz sinker and a ball of night crawlers.  I catch them year round, but the pre-spawn/spawn is when I get the most action and the fish are a bit bigger too(late february through the end of may).  I also use a smaller bait holder hook as they are more sensitive to that than most people think.  I have 18 guys on the list so far, but if this year is as good as last year, it should be pretty easy for me to catch enough carp to make everyone happy- at least a dozen carp each trip is no problem at the "honey hole"!

JW_Halverson:
I've never had trouble finding the carp, but have rarely had them bite any bait, especially worms/nitecrawlers.  Maybe we have vegan carp here.  You do make an excellent point about the smaller hooks.  Their lips and barbels are as sensitive as a grizzly bear with hemorrhoids in fly season.

Gus:
We used to hunt them with Bows...
When I was a kid, back in Beggars Canyon... :)
