My second and third bucks were killed in "mid whiz", one of them at about 20 feet.

Wolf Watcher:
Was hunting an out of state hunter and we were working some bull elk with the bugle.  My hunter mentioned something about camp food and headed to a big fallen log.  One old bull had been quiet and was sneaking in on us.  All I could see was his horns above the brush coming right up on the log.  "Oh (poop) I heard the dude say as the elk was looking over the log at him when he was unarmed and unpantsed!  The whole hill side seemed to erupt with thundering elk!  Still laugh at the memory!  A/Ho Joe
