Bow Centerline question
« on: April 10, 2012, 01:51:22 pm »
I am finishing up a bow made from a somewhat wonky stave. As it is, when strung, the nocks are in perfect alignment and the string at the arrow nocking point is just over where the arrow rests. I am wondering if this is a fortuitous bit of crook in the stave or if it will cause problems. I've shot a dozen or so arrows with it and they all group pretty well. (for me, at any rate)

There is a small amount of handshock, but I think it may be somewhat due to a combination of light arrows and chubby limb tips.

If it's not twisting in your hand, then it's a fortuitous bit of crook :)

Fortuitous?!
I won't hear of such a thing!
It is your superb workmanship and clever positioning of the bow within the stave!
Blimey, we don't want people thinking this bow making lark is easy... you should write a learned dissertation on it and demand an honourary degree immediately.
Luck? Whatever next...
