Hey guys,am very happy to finally become a member!it's great to be amounst a bunch of characters who share my passion!that being said ,  bought some sinew at a trading and it is very waxy In texture and I never work with sinew before ,so I don't know what is right?any advise would be great! Thx's

JW_Halverson:
I'd be willing to bet it's tallow from the deer.  I had some like that and I washed it with Dawn diswashing liquid and warm water.  Then I laid it out flat on cardboard and let it dry again.  I repeated the washing several times until it lost that waxy or greasy feel.

bushboy:

Are you sure that it isn't ARTIFICIAL sinew?  Comes in a spool and yellowish in color.  Very waxy.
