hawks n hatchets

enjoying the threads on old hatchets.
have a great old hatchet found at a yard sale for $2. a boy scout marked plumb.

today i decided to rehandle a hawk with a chunk of osage
left over from splitting out staves that ended up in the firewood pile

used that old plumb hatchet to rough out the handle,
then rasps, a scraper, sandpaper and bear grease to finish it up
just like making a bow with no rings to chase...
