cowboy:
Do not despair Derik, you are doing just fine! Keep on a knappin :)! Remember what everybody says about tonnage? There's your ticket. I'd like to come up there and spend a day.
Zuma:

The blade narrows at the half thing area
The basal edges are smooth from the half thing area and from a re-curved basal adage.
No matter, I think I am trying to preserve to much blade?

cowboy:
I think someone back in the day just had to come up with something different for whatever reason. Don't know if these are projectile points or what but the staches would obviously prevent them from penetrating, hmm.
Also noticed along the way that you can create just about anything your mind can conjure up and you can find it in the overstreet.
bowtarist:
Thanks cowboy...I ain't givin up on the knapping. I want to try to get really good at cahokia and agee style points. That is what my summer point spread should be by fall.
zuma, I think you;re right about needing to get rid of some blade.
Thanks Guys, dp
bowmo:
That's it, I quit this one. haha. And tonnage is right. Too bad I live in IL and basically refuse to by rocks. I've worked maaaybe 20 pieces of large unspalled rock in my 16+ years of chipping.
