Here is one I made awhile ago, I kept this one to try out for my personal skinning knife. Beaver season comes in day after Christmas and I plan on using this knife on the first beaver of the season. 5" Dacite blade, osage handle and deer rawhide lace wetted and shrunk then sealed with some spray Poly. beaver are a pain to skin, at least for me hah.
I think hafted knifes for primitive man were mostly carried as weapons. It was their claw, their tooth. Flakes and small spalls were mostly what would have been used to skin, cut, carve ext.. This is just my thoughts ;)
