World Atlatl Day

(1/3) > >>

Dane:
Yesterday was World Atlatl Day. Teams from all over the world competed using a standard ISAC target, with two throws for each team member at 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 meters. Those last two ranges are really tough! 17 people showed up in CT for our contribution. Good food, great company, and just an overall relaxing and totally fun day.

Here are some photos. I caught some darts in flight, so you can see the flex as they travel downrange.

Thats great! Great shots. I went to raging cow hosted by john whitaker.

Dane:
Thanks, Iowabow. How was that event? Any pictures?

JW_Halverson:
Some great photos there buddy!  Thanks.

I got into primitive archery to meet women, looks like I picked the wrong weapon!!!  You had more women throwing atlatls at this one single event than I have ever seen shooting stick bows!  That cinches it, I gotta make me some atlatls and darts.

Dane:
Thanks, JW.

Go out and make some darts and an atlatl. You are right, you do see a lot of women at atlatl events. And they seem to be much better than men in many cases. :)
