Haithabu:
Hey guys, can't sleep atm, so I thought why not present a bow.

Actually , I have to thank Keenan for the lovely bows shown on his webside, copied the decoration idea from him.
It's a bow for my girlfriend, the stave was from L. Bartels via ebay.

30 # @ 28 ", N2N 70 " , silk backing with  dow rose (rosa canina) leaves, which were collected and dried in winter so they would have a colour that harmonizes with the core wood, arrow pass is mother pearl. Little fancy , I know.

The width is 3 cm on the working limbs and 8 mil on the tips. Set is below 1 " in total, the stave had like 10 mil deflex.

Finish is 4 coats of my oil-mixture (tung, linseed and orange-oil)  under 3 coats of glossy pu varnish ( spar varnish). Usually , I prefer the oil finish, but as you guys may know, the nice color of the wood turns dull when exposed to the sun so I did a little color preservation test in advance with some leftover pieces and the oil mixture + some varnish was the oustanding winner.

I'll hand in a full draw pic later, it's a christmas present, hope, she'll like it.

Here we go:

brace height and right after unstringing

upper and lower nock, overlays made from mahagoni underneath a sort of kingwood

plz feel free to comment :)

merry christmas from Germany,

Haithabu:
handle, belly and side view

Note: I noticed that the angle on the brace height pic distorts the true dimensions but I hope the full draw pic will fix that ;)

Pappy:
I am sure she will, another nice one. :)
