I have never put back set in Hickory, but with Osage, I heat the handle up slowly and bend it.  You can feel it give when it's hot enough.

Be sure that the bow is designed to handle the reflex there otherwise it will just over strain it and cause set, cancelling out any of the benefits of the reflexing and reduce the life of the bow.

Is this already a finished or shooting bow? If so then leave it be and learn from it and make another. No sense in risking messing it up if you've never made such bends before. Plus it might just cancel out like Weylin mentioned if you don't have enough width ti take the extra stress. You could heat treat the limbs back straight or into a slight reflex. Your hickory might have been wet and not dry enough as well and that's why it took set and is doggy.
