Shoot good,I don't have the grip and finish on yet,maybe try and finish it this week and get some pictures of it done.It should be fun to hunt with it that short.It has also helped the stacking.
Pretty smooth to draw.

Pappy, that's looking mighty good. I like those carp skins, may have to try that. How do you get the scales off without ripping the skin? I know carp have some serious scales on 'em.

The skins look great Pappy. How were they for applying? and what type of carp regular old carp, grass carp?

I think grass carp,Mickey Lotzs gave them to me so I ant sure.Hillbilly the scales weren't bad at
to get off,guess every who skinned it scaled it first.Dana it wasn't like snake skins I would say
more like putting on rawhide.I had to soak the a pretty good while to get the plyable and
then put them on and rapped them like snake or rawhide.I also washed them in dawn first to
degrease them.Seemed to have worked fine.I made the grip and put a coat of Tru Oil last night.
Hope to finish it up by the weekend.

Ya this was made in 02 or 3 and was OK but I have learned a little since then on how to make them better so I decided to redo some that I thought was worth the trouble.Anyway GregB
has rationed me on the wood.Just kidding Greg. ;)This one isn't done yet ,maybe in a week or
2 if I take time off from hunting and just do it.Now that the weather has changed I want to hunt not work on bows,Man I need to quit this job it is really getting in the way of my fun.

I hear ya on the bow building and work Pappy, those hickory bows been just sittin maybe today seein as how the weather is really nasty here, but then again I want to go huntin

And only 5 years to go and I can take my retirement at age 52

Ya DanaM I planed on that at 55 but when Iwas 40 it looked a lot better to be able
to do that than it dose when you get there.

Got the grip on this weekend and now just need to get it sealed,then I will get some pictures of full draw and the finished bow.The carp skins really turned out nice,may have to do some fishing.
