Besides the usual school and home stuff, I'm getting things ready for the "Beginning Band for Grownups" class that starts tomorrow.  I've been thinking about doing this for several years, and I'm excited to get it started.  I have at least fifteen people signed up.  If anybody wants to join, it isn't too late...but the commute might be tough for some of you.

Hopefully it won't be too long before we're sounding better than Eric's crows.

I guess it is my week to spend money; I have two freezers, one new 20 cubic ft, and a very old 16ft that is at least 25 years old. The old one works but has started running water inside when it goes in defrost mode, because of this it has developed a funky smell inside that can get into the food. It is an over flow freezer for when I fill my big freezer completely full of deer, chicken bacon, fish and precooked meals. I keep the overflow freezer full of vegies from the garden. Being cheap, I put things like freezer replacement off too long, fearing I would loose the contents to a failure I bought a new one yesterday, $800.

I noticed the tires on my F250 were getting a bit worn, the truck is a 2013 with 37K miles on it, I checked the date code on the tires and was surprised to find that they were the original tires from 2013. New ones are on the way to Sam's, $1300. I never used the truck much, I bought it new to pull my 5th wheel camper just before my wife was diagnosed with cancer. After she died I went out alone for a few years, then I sold my camper.  I was going to trade it for something smaller this year but decided to start driving it instead of keeping it just for a back-up.

Then I had a maintenance code on my 2011 Honda pilot, the usual stuff that is done every 60K miles but I know they will soak me for around $500 or more. I used to do all of this stuff myself but those days are over, I can't get up and down like I once could and definitely can't get under a car.

Sounds like some of my weeks Eric.  :) That's a good price on tires, the ones on my 2500 GMC cost almost 2 grand last year when I had new ones put on, good thing I don't drive it much so they should last a while.

That's more than I have spent on most of the vehicles I have owned! I kinda miss the old Isuzu Trooper that insurance would have written off as totalled if it ran out of gas!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I had one of those John, a 1984 Isuzu Trooper II. Brought us up to the mountains in 1990 used it a few more years then parked it. Still sitting where we parked it about 25 years ago. Great little 4WD. The narrower wheel base would go between the ruts and with its 4WD low you could climb a pine tree with the right tires.  ;D
