sinew fletching question.

hey guys, so im about ready to fletch some feathers by sinew wrap, do i need to use some kind of glue like nox gelatian or can i just soak the sinew in warm water and apply it?

Wet or chew the sinew and it will make it's own hide glue ;)

cool! does the same apply for the arrowheads? i have some obsidian ones, can i just do that, and put pitch there as well?

You sure can.  It will shrink and harden when it dries and tighten up.

I chew sinew for wraps. Saliva and the chewed sinew makes the glue. I rarely use glue. Once the wrap dries I seal it with pitch varnish.

Since I don't like to putting the sinew in my mouth, I use hide glue whenever I wrap with sinew.  I just dip the sinew in water for a second and then start wrapping.

Pat's pine pitch varnish is the way to go if you want natural waterproofing.   :)

If you really feel the need to use the glue, just put a small pinch in your mouth with the sinew.  It works great.
