I'm getting there on mine, I have a ring chased and the bow profiled out, I just have to start reducing the limb thickness and start tillering.  Here is where I'm at so far.

hi all just checking in. i dont think im gona send my mollie as im not 100% satisfied with the tiller. and i dont have much more # to play with to correct it. so i have started to rough out another bow. i have been very busy with work recently too so not had much time to work on bows, also the steel cable has worn through my pulley on the tiller tree so i have to get that sorted too before i can carry on.got to say there is some excellent workmanship on this thread keep it up everyone. :)

Well mine is boxed up ready to go and I got the address of the recipient this morning! Hope he likes it and will actually take it hunting some. I tried to make something that I don't think he has made before...HHB, and that is my 2nd favorite bow wood I've used next to osage.

Will try and get it on its way within the next couple of days! Loss my charger for my camera, so I haven't been able to take pictures for a while...maybe he can post some when he receives it.

hackberry stave that I got from paulsemp, thanks paul, had to cut and wedge the handle to get it halfweay close to centerline right now it's 54# and about 65 ttt @29"

Good thinking on kerfing the handle like that Bub. Did you fill it with something? I don't think I ever would have thought of that as a solution. Smart stuff!

Well....I think it's gonna make a shooter.  I was never really sure I could get a decent bow out of this stave, but the farther I got down the road, the better I felt about it.  Still a bit surprised.  I put a couple of dozen arrows thru her today and it shoots very sweet.  Center of the target consistently.  I was concerned that it might have some hand shock with the knots adding weight to the tip, but not really any.  Tiller's not perfect, but it may be as close as I can get it.  Any thoughts welcome.  I will continue to shoot her in, doll her up, and if it continues to hold up, decide which one to send out.  Really like this one!

Looks great Slimbob. I don't see anything wrong with the bend. If you're having any accuracy problems I'd say it's because you're looking at the camera when you shoot!  ;)
