Bending Iron Wire

(1/1)

Darto:
I bought this helmet stand (for displaying medieval/reenactment armor) online, costs $10 or $15 or some such.
Made of heavy iron wirelike material , finished in some sort of black substance, supposed to be authentic middle ages metal finish substance.

Anyways 1/4" heavy iron is probably difficult to bend into these types of shapes? Need a forge perhaps?
Been using this in mountains where ground to rocky to pierce.

Stoker:
If you paid 10-15 for it. Most likely cold rolled steel wire. Bender/roller will do it. No heat needed. A vice and a peice of pipe will work too.
Thanks Leroy

Darto:
Oh, OK, steel. It is made by Epic Armoury in Denmark, I think all their armor suits and helmets etc. are made of the same metal. I thought probably iron, but thanks, I guess it is steel. They just say 'metal' on the label.

Thesquirrelslinger:
Try a heavy pliers/vice grips and your foot. That is what i do, and I am 14 yrs old, 5'3.
