LOOKING FOR YEW IN THE UK!!!!!
paulsemp:
I would master those maple billets before I dared to touch a yew stave!
Squirrelslayer:
Ok thanks guys. I will check out to see if there is anything near me. I do have two spokeshaves that have been handed down in the family. They go back to the 1800's and were used to make masts for boats that acctualy went to war, could I maybe trade one of thoose for some yew? SS
sleek:
YIKES KID! Your insane! Nautical history ( and trust me, I know, I'm a Hawkins, and was in the Navy ) is nothing to go trading off, getting rid of, or treating lightly. Tools like that, with that type of history ought to be cherished and used. If I had yew, I would give it to you for free so long as you promised to keep those in your family. Anyways, dont do it, you will ( or somebody else will ) hate yourself for it in the future.
