making fish glue from brewers isinglass?

(1/1)

lewstewns:
hi folks. i have just joined the forum. i apologise if this has been discussed before but i,ve had a search and cant find it. my question is-Is it possible to make fish glue from the bottled isinglass used by brewers to clear beer? if so, has anyone ever done it?

JW_Halverson:
Isinglass is used for "fining" beers and wines and so is Knox unflavored gelatin.  I KNOW the Knox makes good glue.  Try prepping two pieces of wood and glueing them together!

Olanigw (Pekane):
You might be able to.

According to the MSDS it has potassiom metabisulfate and citric acid added.  I don't know how the citric acid would affect it's composition, if at all.

at $22 per liter, it's not too expensive, so try it out.

thanks for the replies guys. i think i,n gonna try it out
