? about flint/chert flakes

hi guys i have not posted any thing in a while due to my computer going out on me . i bid on a box of flint/chert flakes tabs.and won the bid. for a  desent price.   was just wondering if most flint /chert can be worked with out heat treatment or or well it need to be heate treat . this well be my first time working sumthing other then glass / obsidian. also got me a copy of the The Art of Flintknapping book bye  D C Waldorf, and sum slabs to boot.

those flakes should work fine as is.

got my rocks in yesterday sum of them work well and sum of them is hard as a hell  .im thanking imma try and do a heat treatment on sum of  it and see if it makes it batter to chip .it might just be me cause this is the first ive tryed of chert and flint.
