Roosevelt Elk hunt in Western Oregon (updated)

Just to set the story straight, I didn't think the bull would come straight at us - they rarely do. What I did not expect is that it would go all the way to the creek bottom, cross the creek, climb the opposite bank, walk the logging road on the other side for a spell, climb back down, recross the creek and then head back up the hill straight at me. All the while in plain view :o I was so entranced by this bull's behavior (and his 7 point rack) that by the time I thought I might want to reposition myself relative to Weylin, the bull had me in his sights and it was too late. What a thrill though!

That's the game they play. The young bulls are the easiest they come running in on an estrus call especially in late season when they're looking to mate before the time is up.
Hats off to your calling skills Gordon, for getting a bull like that to come that close.
