String Grip

(1/2) > >>

The Gopher:
I think i slipped into a bad habit. I thought i was dealing with a bit of target panic or something, and i suppose it was/is, but i also think i know why. The grip i take on the string was slowly working it's way closer to my finger tips and i am releasing a bit early. I started to think i was getting weak or something too since it seemed like i was having trouble coming to full draw. once it dawned on me that i was barely getting a hold of the string i took a deeper hook and it felt a lot better, now i still have some form correcting to do but i think i am on the right path.

Has this ever happened to you guys?

Where do you guys hook the string? right on the first finger joint, or closer to the finger tips, maybe i have weak fingers.

PEARL DRUMS:
First knuckle for me. I grab right unto it.

The Gopher:
Thanks PD, I think i'll see my shooting improve. Frustrated at myself for letting this happen and not seeing the obvious and easy thing that led to other problems, oh well, onward and upward.

JW_Halverson:
I put the middle of the finger pads on the string.

tallpine:
I use a deep hook, first knuckle. Eliminates string plucking and makes for a cleaner more consistent release.
