Pics of finished fox quiver added!

CherokeeKC:
I have a case skinned grey and red fox hide.  I have already stitched up a leather quiver insert to go inside the fox hide.  The quiver will be plains style.  My question is what piece to attach the stiffener to and also how to attach the liner and shoulder strap?  I am struggling with whether to attach stiffener on outside of fox hide or to liner that will go inside fox hide.  And then depending on how I deal with that, I am still not sure how to attach strap.

Just turn it inside out to sew it on. ;)

Just finished a Grey Fox (cased) as an example of an everyday hunting quiver. It's for the Odawa and their elders say it's a very fine example of the type that they used. Will email or post some photo's if they will help you out.

PS: there is no liner and no stiffening rods in these but they look real good (in my opinion)

KC,
Here's a couple pics of the grey fox  I just finished. There is no stiffener and no liner, FYI
the strap (bandolier) is braided moose leather and this is how I attach it.

cut a 2 to 3 foot leather thong between 1/4 and 1/2 inch wide, and fold it in half

cut two slits in the bandolier one above the other where you want to attach it, and one slit in the quiver where the attachment point will be (through both sides) if you have a stiffener then cut the quiver slit just below the stick

(for  a quiver with the bandolier outside the quiver....exposed not hidden) take the thong at the middle and push it through the top most hole in the bandolier, pass out the back and then through the quiver and then back through the bandolier at the lowest slit.

Pass the long ends through the small loop in the thong and pull up snug. The hanging thong ends act as tie downs if ya need to carry something else ( a bow without a sock, or tomahawk, spear etc)

If you need to "re-size" just cut 2 more slits in the bandolier where-ever needed and re-tie the loop.

hope that helps....if any questions, happy to help you out.
