Backing for HHB?

Maple ash or bamboo would be best for HHB?

For a HHB stave you shouldn't need a backing.

Both Maple and Ash make a good backing for HHB.  Bamboo is a bit too much for it but can also be used if you trap it.

I had bug damage so I cut it into a board. I wanna do a backed bow for practice before I tried this bamboo and osage.
