phragmites/wisteria pack basket
TacticalFate:
made from wisteria and phragmites harvested near my house, inspired by this:

The area with the wistera is an ecological disaster- wisteria and tree of heaven are battling it out, with the wisteria winning, with Japanese knotweed growing in the background. Phragmites were from the same area. I cheated and used art sinew to attach the phrags to the frame, as I am too lazy to make that much cordage and don't have any rawhide on hand. Its heavy, compared to traditional split wood pack baskets, but the wisteria in the frame hasn't finished drying out completely, so it may lose a few more ounces. The straps are temporary, I will make my own basswood rope straps when I get back up to school.
