I found some Damascus steel it is about .155 or 5/32 thick is this too thick???

I believe that's a bit thick.  A small hunting point would probably weight 275 grs.  Something closer to 1/16" thk or 16 ga would be better.
Just IMO  :)

thanks, the Damascus is found on ebay Alabama Damascus is the seller he also has knife blanks its great metal 52100 bearing steel is in the mix great guy talked to him by phone.
