Anyone elce ever tryed this or dose anyone have a beter idea?

Thats about all the costly choppers are,, they just have a hinge for the two pieces of wood so the cuts are consistent, shouldnt be too hard to make one.

The feather chopper is quite hard spring steel I think. It cuts against a softer metal. I think this is needed to get a clean cut on the feather. A chopper is a simple tool and costs only about $20 to buy new.

I've bought 3 choppers and none cost more than $28 dollars. Three Rivers sells them.

I like scissors-takes only a few seconds to shape a fletching. You can make a template or just eyeball it.
