A couple of raps with a hammer stone to see if it breaks with a concoidial fissure should answer your question. If it is soft or easy to flake like opalized materals you can still knap it but its not much good for a tool or point! Joe

Thanks for the picture. That stuff is awesome! I hope it will take heat, and you can make some fancy points from it. Or send some to Tower, and see what he can do with it, or Jack Crafty, or Mullet. Cool looking stuff. Thanks again for the picture.

I know where some of that is in a yard in the town I work in >:D. I've been driving by over a year checking it out and trying to figure out what it was.
