Birch tar from alder?
(1/1)
Billinthedesert:
I've always wanted to make some of this stuff, but we really don't have any but ornamental birch trees here in Oregon, so I am mostly out of luck. I notice birch is of the genus Betula, and the Betulacaeae family, which also includes alders. Plenty of alder in Oregon. Has anyone tried to make a useful tar from alder bark?
GlisGlis:
Personally I didnt but i read of someone who did.
Actually I cant find where. Google gives some results but it was somewhere else i read.
Anyway i'd try if I be you
