Very nice - I've never tried alder!

Bow sounds nice - I had a play with John Hayes' bamboo-backed bamboo longbow a while ago, it was like a little rocket launcher. 

Must try some alder then, at some point!

Whoa!!! That's just sacrilege ;D ;D ;D   But when you think about it most of the high altitude yew is already in the boonies ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well DC, the bow Alan's planning is just an experiment...not to be taken too seriously. Not even sure it would be allowed into the EWBS 'Meane wood' section in one of their shoots, but I'd love to give it one and see how it stacks up against the 'elite' bows >:D
