Damascus points
mullet:
The ones I had were like a Trade point, just tie it on with sinew.
sleek:
These will be 15n20 and 1095 steel. I may make a press that will form a tang into a round socket but weight will be an issue to overcome there.
By the way I got permission from him today to make points and he would give me the steel to do it. So I will start out with trade point tang with a typical 2" long 1" wide point and see what that weighs. Will try .050 thick for starters.
mullet:
Cool, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Eric Garza:
If I trade for some, I'd want them to be trade points that I can wind on with sinew or thread soaked in glue. I'd want mine on the lighter side too, and perhaps 7/8 - 1 inch wide, certainly no wider than that. I'd want them on the lighter side to, up to 150 grains would be fine, lighter would be fine too.
