more from march:
this material is rather finicky and i'm not sure i'll ever go back to it.
my home-grown pressure flaker. i annealed some ground wire and hammered it into a pilot hole on the small end of a sapling:
materials: stained glass
finally got one flat without breaking it:
materials: mountain dew bottle
found another one:
materials: old gray-tinted tv glass
two more from the flat glass:
materials: el Jimador bottle

my cousin gave me some rock to try. first attempts at getting a rock preform with the bopper:
it was ugly:
a few more minutes into the night:
and i broke the ear while notching so i had to shorten it:
i found another photo:
another from that month:
materials: tinted tv glass
materials: novaculite
Chippintuff:
Welcome aboard and keep them coming. You're doing great. I do suggest letting the copper stick out only about 1/3 to 1/2 as much as you are showing there. You're well on your way.

may
more rock from my cousin. geeze this stuff is sharp. i was also testing the waters with an antler that was given to me by a friend. the cleaner antler is one i found at petco.
materials: obsidian
here's a microscope shot of an obsidian sliver than i got out of my finger. i set it on a slide that had a slice of a plant for scale.
note the triangular leaf projecting from the side:
here's that obsidian leaf magnified even more. i couldn't believe how strong that leaf was. i'm just glad it didn't decide to break off in my finger.
this one is from a squarish green bottle. i like the color on this:
materials: Carapelli Extra Virgin Olive Oil bottle
i'll see if i can find some more from may to add to this post.
i had an sd card failure in september and i lost a lot of photos that were on my phone.
