3rd Annual Moon Tree Gathering

<< < (37/72) > >>

TRACY:
I've got some 10 plus yr old Osage billets bark on if anybody wants to give them a go. Just say the word and I'll bring plenty of 36-42" pieces.

osage outlaw:
I've got 130 clay targets.  How much are we shooting?  Should I pick up another box?

DLH:
I thinking about bringing some lumber to make a recurve caul now too. I think I know what I want to do with that sinew and deer killer stave Clint just gonna take awhile atleast I'll have everything together when the time comes. Anyone gonna pull an all nighter?

hedgeapple:
Clays, let say 15 people are shooting and each shoots 1 box of shells (25) that's 375 pigeons. I have at least a 1/2 of box of clays, however many that might be. Maybe we can scavenge some unbroken birds, maybe not.  And maybe some folks will want to practice Friday  or Saturday morning before the shoot.  And, maybe some folks will want to shoot some Sunday.

I'm thinking of set up a "pigeon range" like Brian does when we get together for our shooting match.  It would be 5 stations, 1 to the left and one to the right of the thrower. 1 station far left and down hill to give the shooter a right to left crossing shot, another station that's a mirror image to that one giving the shooter a left to right crossing shot.  AND then the pickle bucket station in front of the thrower, where the shooter gets an over the head/going away shot (0f course the pigeon is doing it's little frizbee drop at that time, also.

I've figured out how I'm going to make the scraping board out of the 12" pvc pipe.  I'm going to cut it in half length ways and make 2 scraping beam from it. Now I can only use one scraping beam at a time.  So, the second one is up for trade at the end of the gathering. So, I'm taking bids.   >:D

I don't live to far from you Dave ( Jess.Co.)  so if anyone needs anything durring the weekend I will be driving back and forth. The caul I have now is made from 2 by 6's  you tell me, I can see where 10's or 12's would work better if wanting to  use  C clamps. Any suggestions for lumber ?   Joe.

I love doing it, Joe.  Yeah, it's a little bit of work, but it's some much fun seeing my bowyer friends and meeting new ones, it all worth it.
