Coner Tang question

(1/3) > >>

StevenT:
I am starting this as a new topic because I did not want to hijack Sasquatch's corner tang post. Over time, I have seen several corner tang posted. What I am wondering is how a corner tang is hafted or used?  I am thinking it is used as a blade (knife), but I can't picture it in my head. What type of handle is used? Does anyone have pics of a completed corner tang or how it is used? Thanks.

Tower:
I think the tang was created to tie a lanyard to your wrist. The tang would be too weak to be hafted & used . I've used a cornertang with a  lanyard to skin a deer. I found that I could use both hands & if I needed the knife was always readily available .   Just my opinion.

Sasquatch:
Tower's opinion make perfect sense to me also.

StevenT:
Thanks. That makes sense. Especially with the size of Sasquatch's corner tang. That is one awesome looking blade and I could see it being used as is.

Stringman:
One I made several years ago.
