New section for point of the month, and arrows of the month?
« on: February 09, 2015, 04:43:14 am »
Ok I tried this thread on the magazine feedback section first and didn't get any response. So I will try here and see what people think.
I think there should be a section in PA magazine for point of the month, and maybe even arrows of the month (set of 3 minimum). They could be voted on just like the bows of the month.  I think this would be a fun addition to the magazine and something that could inspire others to get out and try.  Am I alone in this?

The pom guys do a great job making and photographing thier work.
As do the arrow makers.
The pics would look good in print. Especially the winners.

I would like to see a half a page on the subject.   I think it would strengthen the other areas of the forum. It would be a lot better then looking at advertisements !   I like the idea.

That might be cool but there is always a shortage of people to even help with Bow of The Month. It's not a paying job and is a lot of work and a big commitment for the Magazine.

Yea Eddie, I figured that was going to be the biggest hurdle for something like this.

You do realize ads are a nessesary evil in publishing a mag right
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

I was just getting ready to post, without Ads there is no magazine. At least you get to look at a few pretty girls. :D

If they ever decide to do it, I can help with getting it ready for publishing.  Just don't blame me if I am the winner most of the time.   ::)

Maybe Patrick can pick a point and post it in his question and answer article. >:D

Actually, I can put a point description in each installment of "From the Pit" but that will limit my space for questions.  And the point description (and knapping method) will be brief.

If that's OK with you guys, I will do it.   :)

A few less questions would be ok by me, especially the ones asking you to quit using a tool or give up rock honey holes  >:D

thats a good idea Patrick. This might morph into something different later, but the point and description would be a great place to start. I think the mag crowd is ready for a little more exposure to our world. And your column provide the perfect backdrop.
