Glad to see you posting Marcus ! Daniel knows the rock in your area better than I , but it looks like good rock. Let us know if cooking it improves any. Looks like your showing that rock who's boss ;D

Its kentucky agate. Some of it can be real tough but will slick up with heat 550 or so.

I cooked a batch and it turned kinda chalky and crumbly. It kidnapped much nicer before.the piece on the left is raw.

Too bad. Good raw chert usually crazes like that
when heated to high. I think your chert would be just fine raw.

The chertier looking stuff on the left of the top picture looks better than then the stuff on the right. The right looks like the agate to me. I have had some of it do that also. Gets kind of grittier and not so goo. I think it depends on the piece.
