Women are about the same. So frustrating yet I just can't stop. I have never been one who has to work at very many things to be good. Knapping is another story. Does bifacing just come with time? I waste more stone trying to get a decent start.

jayman448:
haha i know what you mean. the few guys out my way no longer say they are going to knap. we all say " come on guys, lets go make gravel" its pretty well all ive done. to be honest all my points are flukes XD haha

cowboy:
Tonnage is key. Get with as many as you can, watch utubes, books etc. perseverance will usually pay off in the end.

JoJoDapyro:
There are a bunch of good guys out my way. There is a group that meets monthly for a knap in.

Parnell:
I consider myself still very much a newbie.  My top things:

1.  Break lots of rock.
2.  Platform preparation - abrade.
3.  Hold the preform as loosely as possible in your hand.  Think baby bird.
4.  Follow through with your strike.  All the way through...
5.  Quality rock makes for a faster learning curve.  Get some good stuff.
