A hunk of slate from the creek

<< < (2/2)

caveman2533:
Very nice piece.

Zuma:
Thanks Silver and Steve.
Making soft stone objects the abo way is a
lot easier than than it might seem.
I found half a gorget along the river bank one day.
Right there with it was a paddle drill that fit the hole.
I brought some local river pebbles (like the material
the gorget was made from) home.
I had planned to make a drill and try it on the pebbles.
I washed my finds and put them on the kitchen table
and went shopping. When I returned home my 10 year
old daughter was home from school and had already
bored a hole through one of the pebbles with the artifact.
I couldn't get upset with her. She learned me. lol
