Went to Glass Buttes and made a point on site.

Yeah so on my road trip I stopped by glass buttes, OR and got me some rock.  Here's a point I made sitting under a juniper tree with obsidian flakes beneath my feet.

Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

Another cool video, Tim. What an adventure Primitive Tim is on this summer.
At least there you don't have to worry about your debitage.(sp)

Hahaha, I have no idea.  Maybe if I get some funding I'll do the trip again and release it as a documentary.  For now, it's all free on YouTube!

I feel like nothing is as I expected and I tried not to have too many expectations.  Yeah knapping on a pile of debitage was nice but if you trip and have to catch yourself with your hands you could get some serious injuries on your hands.

It's an even longer way from Florida.  Davis Creek, CA is another awesome place to collect obsidian.
