Elm Hall elm bow build off interest?
PEARL DRUMS:
Fella's,
We have been tossing an idea around about an Elm Hall elm bow build off. Here is where we are, let me know who is interested and/or what you'd like to see changed. We are totally open and just brain storming.
1> Each bowyer will chose an elm sapling at this years shoot,2015.
2> Build a bow over the following year.
3> Display completed bows in the club house for the 2016 shoot to be silent auctioned and judged by a panel of who's-who. The winner of each year will have his/her name added to a plaque that will be displayed in the club house. Donating your bow back to the club IS NOT MANDATORY.
4> Proceeds go back to the club to fund the best shoot in Michigan in 2017, and beyond.
I think it would be fun and a great benefit to the club. Sounds like a win-win to me. I also think it would be good for our hobby to display the bows all weekend and allow folks to look at them up close and handle them some.
Im in!

That sounds like a great Idea. I'm in /no thoughts on the cost, just let me know. Love that place. :) They have been so good to me over the years anything I can do to help them out would be a very small payment back in my eyes. :)

I knew I could count on both of you guys, best friends a guy could have.
It'll fun choosing a sapling to snip down without all you ya-hoo's eyeballing it!
Buckeye Guy:
Good Idea Pearly
If you can snatch a stick for me I will send it back with a string on it
I am working on a similar idea at Marshall , trying to get Wilder Creek to cut that black locust that is leaning over my campsite into six foot long pieces for next year !
