making birch/pine tar

Spotted Dog:
Ok I have seen the making of birch tar/pitch. Can you take pine cones and do the same ?
I thought I saw it somewhere but can't find it now.

Yes you can, also pine fatwood (ie. fat lighter, lighter knot, etc.).
