Polished Celt

(1/3) > >>

swamp yeti:
I thought I would do something a little different I made a greenstone celt. The celt was pecked, ground, polished and the bit was sharpend with a piece of sandstone. The length of the celt is five and a half inches and the width at the bit is two and a half inches. After I made the celt I made a handle from white oak.

mullet:
Cool looking Celt. I hope you made something with that tree. You should never kill a poor tree unless you are going to use it or eat it. That is not Ethical chopping.

swamp yeti:
Thanks Mullet, the tree was leaning over my road bed into the bottom could not get my tractor up under it,good practice for my celt.

Spotted Dog:
Yea buddy! Love it. How'd you polish it ?

swamp yeti:
I polished it with fine sand and water on a big flat piece of sandstone.
