Does anyone use aluminum arrows?

<< < (2/3) > >>

Pappy:
Lots of them trees here Del.  ;) ;D ;D I know several folks that use them and they are much easier to get a matched set for sure, wood will come around but if I was where you are right now and hunting season closing in on me I would use them to, probably did 30+ years ago for the same reason. ;) I think if I remember right 20/13teens were my choice, they would fly out of about anything. :)

Use what you have and get some wood ones when you can.  I stopped using aluminum when I was using a glass bow in favor of woods because I found that the aluminum were not as durable as wood.  Aluminum sure does have a flatter trajectory.

PEARL DRUMS:
You think those metal shafts fly nice Tim, try some Gold Tips carbons. Even better. Big Jim sells "seconds" dirt cheap.

Pappy:
Now that is going to far Pearl  ::) Pappy

Uh oh..... we aren't going to have that "which one is more primitive - carbon or aluminum?" thing again are we?  ;D

Makin bows that shoot good is pretty easy - but making a good set of arrows takes a while.  Heck yeah, in your shoes I would go with aluminum.  The arrow selection chart on the 3 Rivers site will put you darn close to perfect arrow flight in short order.  You might have to play around with what point weight gives you the best flight, but you will have a matched set that flies good in no time.   I have filled many a freezer with aluminum arrows over the years.  These days I am a wooden arrow guy for the most part.  I think they are quieter off the bow.
