whats good for elm

i have a elm bow that i am working on..and i need to do some tip flipping..SO,is heat or steam best for this wood..thanks john

Either will work dandy John. I use dry heat unless its a static tip Im looking for.

Sleek is right, elm is AMAZING. Heat treats well, makes sapling bows, it does everything. Like a poor mans osage ;)

John, look at my build along in the  "Archives" section...60" elm static recurve, beginning to end"   lots of info there.
 This was my first elm bow and I fell in love with elm as a bow wood.
