Slightly Ticked
willie:
curing or drying out, maybe too dry if you have been keeping it inside a warm house all winter.

It's certainly not green, being an 83 year old cut piece of wood. My average humidity is 77% and I keep my bows outside in my barn. I'm shooting it now to see if I work it, will the weight drop or is this permanent weight gain. I'm short drawing it for now. After a lot of shots I'll weigh it again to see if the poundage dropped any.

I have not been on this site long enough to see this original thread, so I went back and started reading from the beginning. Very impressive. I will be very curious to see the results of the weight gain after you get it loosened back up.
Very good work by the way.
Selfbowman:
I like the tiller tree. 🤠🤠 I tillered a hundred or so bows the same way. It makes you be able to have an eye for an even bend.
