Ive played around with some taconite jasper, knapps like iron but makes some slick points when they do turn out.

Sweet points.  My hats off to yall that break that dragon glass.  That stuff always cuts me up. :)

There's supposed to be some Jasper up North around Hearst but the guy who told me this said all he ever saw were small pieces.  There's also supposed to be some in the Gatineau's near Hull Quebec but I'll be darned if I can find out where.
