if you have trouble thinning abo
« on: November 01, 2015, 11:24:21 am »
Once you have bifaced then comes reduction. Getting past 6:1 ratio is a real bear. For me it was a year of hitting  a glass ceiling. Take your time prepare everything. In the photo below you will see me thinning a very rough piece of  burlington with a terrible step to boot. Make sure your convexity is close and abraid up and down place break flakes on top and bottom then practice swing and go for it. You don't have to swing your hardest but don't be a pussy foot either.

Very powerful. I only needed to punch twice the ulna seemed to handle the rest well. Bowmo I am going to look again at my artifacts as you suggested. This is going to make stalled notches much easier to manage. The stalling happens mostly when I am trying to be careful lol.
