"Wind Scar" - Osage Self Bow 45# @ 28"

The fact that I don't get out and shoot anywhere near as  much as I'd like and getting fatigued by my 55# Osage, I decided to make myself a little 45 pounder for deer season. This was made from a nice, mostly clean piece of Osage that had a neat, little scar along the limb. This was my first attempt at making a bow that has a "hole" through the limb.

I left the area with the scar a tad bit stiff to accommodate it but am still really happy with how the tiller turned out overall. Tips are some leftover cherry wood I had laying around. I heard that cherry was a bit soft, so I soaked these really good with super glue and they seem to be working very well. With the matched arrows I made for her, she really spits an arrow hard but shoots smooth and quiet. Very happy overall. :) Thanks for looking, guys...

She is a beauty.  I love the hole through the center, and I love how the color of the cherry wood tip overlays contrasts with the osage.  Nice job!
