Very nice bow Carson.I can tell all of the hard maticulus work that went into that one.Beautiful.Fun though I'm sure.I'm in the process too of making a self bow holmy for a friend that wants a 31" draw so I made mine 68" TTT with 10" levers.

Thank you for the comments guys. I don't know what to think about some of these comments. They are too nice. I think most of the credit goes to the sturgeon and ray for providing such beautiful hide.

Beadman, I am looking forward to seeing that bow. I am working on some 30" draw bows right now, a yew and an osage. It is always a challenge to get those extra couple inches out of a bow without just making it overly long.

Yea Carson.If you want the arrow to go faster.Pull it back farther......lol.Simple.These big fellas with there 32" draw or converted compound shooters still coming to their original anchor need to shoot self bows too......lol.
The 68" I'm making is the longest bow I've made in a few years.Usually it's anywhere from 60" to 64" with a 28" or 29" draw.That's what I like.I hope I can do as pretty of a finish job as you did with yours.Part of bow making is in the makers' minds' eye.Beautiful well made bow Carson.Those hedge staves I sent ya ought to be pretty seasoned by now.I did make an sinewed all heartwood bow out of the yew.Think I sent you a pic or two.

Beadman, here are the two bows that became of those two pretty little sticks of gold you sent me. I do recall that sinew backed yew you sent a pic of. It was smoking hot...would love to see it posted up here on PA.

You certainly did those 2 pieces of wood justice Carson.I'm not saying that mildly either.I'll look up some of those pics of the yew you sent me.Not quite the pictures you've got of your hedge bows but the forum should get the drift.

Well, I guess I was pushing it a little too far with the narrow snakey lever. Looks like a little side strain plus a touch of grain run off, led to failure. I open to hearing any alternative theories. Regardless of the how and why, it is has been a valuable learning experience for me. Enough rambling, I have to go make a replacement.

:( Sucks... It is a terrible feeling to have a bow break. Guess you could V-splice in a new lever if you wanted to *shrug*
