I have a pretty good spot to hunt now that my buddy owns some property in Nowata ( where the first anual Oklahoma Clasic is to be held this coming September 1st ). Almost every time out I have seen deer. Though never really had a good shot so I let em walk.  I did rattle in a bick with my cactus quiver and bamboo arrows ( shaking the quiver makes a nice rattle ) but he didnt get inside 30 yards. A doe shortly followed him inside 25 and I took a shot. Missed her by a mile. She circled and came right back unsure of what just happened.  I shot again and missed same spot. I packed up and left after that.

Im not a poor shot and something was wrong. I didnt have much target time with this bow and none with these arrows. You tend not to shoot obsidian heads into targets for fear of breaking.  Well I decided im going to break em or tune em trying. I got a hay bale and went to town. 10 yards, all over the place bucking wildly. I was sooting far too left. I kept sanding the arrows with no improvement.  Finally I turned the bow upside down and started drilling center. Weird as it was a center shot and now its not.

Too be continued,  on the road and rest stop is over....

I never hunt with an arrow that I haven't shot first.

I understand but I thought I had em right. Thats what I get for thinking. I broke all three arrows I had trying to figure out what was wrong. I had to make more that night. I will not hunt with an unfired arrow again. And really I should correct myself. I did fire them, at 5 yards necause thats all the room I have in my house. I cant shoot outside where I live.  At five yards the flight wasnt good but I told myself they just weren't getting time to recover before hitting target.

Like I said though, I was shooting the bow center shot, but when I flipped the bow so the arrow had to go around the handle I was shooting 3" groups at 20 yards. I dont understand why arrows wouldnt like a center shot bow.

Pat B:
You will never get good arrow flight at 5 yards. Not enough room for it to correct.
Your arrows were probably too lightly spined so they flew better with the paradox.
Folks should concentrate more on good arrow flight and less on center shot bows. All the bow does is push the arrow. Without properly spined arrows no bow will shoot them well.

I thought center shot had some sort of magic. Reckon not. Arrow spine is key no matter what.
